Good applet on instantaneous speed -- go to website, select applet menu, some math, calculus, differentiation, instantaneous speed.
Does a good job of showing the slope at different parts of a curve and the effect of decreasing the time (x) interval.

Really cool simulation -- you drag a curve and can see both the derivative and integral

Secant line simulation, similar to the top one above.
